Cowboy Hat Size: Finding The Perfect Fit

Getting the perfect fit for your new hat makes all the difference in comfort and style. Here are some tips to get it right on the first try.

Finding The Right Cowboy Hat Fit

In most cases of brand and style of hat, the front of your cowboy hat should fit snuggly. The backside should in turn be a bit looser than the sides and front of the hat. This will allow the fit of the hat to be a lot more comfortable. However, this will depend on the style of hat you choose.

Why Pick a Cowboy Hat?

Cowboy hats are great to sport for so many occasions. Whether it be a rodeo, carnival, holiday, cookout, etc. There’s no shortage of events that are perfect for wearing a cowboy hat to. However, you will have to find the right style first.

Cowboy Hat Styles

Cattleman - A go-to, classic look. This style is easy to sport in virtually every occasion.

Quarterhorse - A classic, fuller look. You’ll be able to spot this style easily in films.

Bullrider - Not as commonly seen, but another great addition to your repertoire of hats and styles. More of a rodeo look.

Hat Pairings

The pairing you have with the rest of your outfit will depend on the color of the hat you choose and the theme of the outfit. Generally, all-black color schemes and all-white color schemes are the most popular. This is often because they are the most versatile and easily match with most clothing types. However, going for a classic tan or darker brown is another fair option, especially if you are going for more of a classic look.

Flannels and other similar top pairings are popular with those more classic looks, but also can go well with all black if that’s what you’re aiming for.
